
Kayla is currently serving as board president to the San Mateo Police Officers’ Association . Kayla is native to the Bay Area and has served the San Mateo Police Department for 11 years. She joins us with the experience of having served with all three groups we represent: Community service officers, police officers and now in a temporary capacity with dispatch/RTIC.
Kayla is homegrown and grew up in Foster City and San Mateo. Kayla has been with the San Mateo Police Department for 11 years serving first as a community service officer and now as a police officer. In her time as a police officer she has served primarily on patrol, most recently as a K9 Handler. Kayla is also a field training officer and holds several ancillary and instructor positions.
Kayla passionately serves as president to ensure San Mateo stays safe by advocating for equitable working conditions for frontline staff and he values fostering a positive relationship with management.

Steven serves as board vice president to the San Mateo Police Officers’ Association. In his time at SMPD, Todd has served as in patrol and was recently selected for the Downtown Unit.
Steven dedicates himself as vice president to ensure SMPOA members are represented fairly, and their constitutional rights are protected. He values his career and enjoys problem solving and interacting with the community.

Lisa serves as board secretary to the San Mateo Police Officers’ Association. She dedicates herself as secretary because she is detail oriented and enjoys keeping things organized.
Lisa has been with the San Mateo Police Department for 19 years, 16 years in our Police Activities League and three as a Community Service Officer! Lisa brings a positive go-getter attitude to the team.

Rory has served as board president to the San Mateo Police Officers’ Association and is currently serving as the treasurer. Rory is native to the Bay Area and has served as a law enforcement officer for over 20 years – 10 years in the Air Force and 10 years as a civil servant.
In his 20 years, Rory has been a field training officer, police academy instructor, crisis negotiator, and peer support member. Rory became a police officer because he felt it was his path in life. He feels it’s the ideal career because it affords him the opportunity to do something different and exciting every day.

Jason serves as board welfare officer to the San Mateo Police Officers’ Association. He devotes himself to ensuring injured or sick SMPOA members are not left behind or fall through the cracks.
Jason has been with the San Mateo Police Department for more than 20 years. During that time, he has served in patrol, as a Traffic Officer, K9 Handler, Field Training Officer and many other ancillary and instructor positions. Jason also serves on our Department Peer Support team, and we are excited to have him bridge the gap between Union Welfare initiatives and our Peer Support Team.
