Who We Are

We are excited you're here and wanting to learn more about the San Mateo Police Officers' Association (SMPOA). The San Mateo Police Department was established in 1907 and the SMPOA has been proudly serving the interests of law enforcement since 2006 as an association. The SMPOA has a long tradition of zealously advocating for our members, protecting the community, and performing our duties with honor, dignity and compassion.

Our nine-member elected board of directors make up the governing body of the organization, passionately serving the mission. The SMPOA has fostered strong relationships with our elected leaders, department heads, and the city manager's office - ensuring positive collaboration, understanding, and mutual understanding.

We look forward to continuing the important relationship with the citizens of San Mateo, the police department, and the leaders at city hall. Thank you San Mateo for your continued support. We are grateful to serve and protect this community we call home.
